Let’s talk about Brooklyn’s own upcoming Recording Artist Fokus. With the game receiving very well the talented and gifted Griselda Records, The Alchemist, Freddie Gibbs and many more lyrical boom bap feel artist, it’s only right that the streets keep Fokus on their radars. After releasing “Winner’s Confession” March 17th, 2021 through MILLIONDOLLARBASE Entertainment, it was only right that we checked out what the Mc had to offer us.

With the album delivering 10 songs, the vibrations are consistent in the sense of approval for the way Fokus hopped on every track and let us know what’s on his mind. The beat production alone is super immaculate, it definitely gives nostalgic boom bap vibes, somewhat of an AZ comparison and that whole 90’s east coast smoker’s lounge music. With some of the beats obtaining cinematic samples from classic films, the dialogue seems to compliment the mood of the song Fokus is rapping on. A song we would like to highlight is “Time Square”, in which provides a real smooth head bopper, bumble bee flow with punchlines filled with conscious weight.

“my criminal not minimal I flipped that / and multiply with no emotions I make onions cry..” A bar that identifies with the recording artist’s personality.- FOKUS

Overall, “Winner’s Confession” is a milestone for Fokus. He definitely didn’t disappoint with this arrival of lyrcism and storytelling, all you have to do is listen closely while you smoke (if you smoke at all) and understand the depth of his meaningful bars. Wisdom pours heavily throughout this album and it’s only right for the streets to keep listening. He ain’t done yet either, so stay tuned.
